INTRODUCCIÓN

What are the key technologies that are being used in the language classroom? What tools can really impact on your teaching and learning. Russell Stannard has contact with thousands of teachers and has delivered training in ICT all over the world. Russell will focus on collaboration, feedback, assessment, reflection and developing student’s speaking skills. The course will not only provide lots of examples of work produced by teachers and students but also give teachers opportunities to use different technologies and consider how they could be used in class.

OBJETIVOS

 

• To provide teachers with a clear knowledge of the types of technologies teachers are using around the world
• To link the theory of language learning to the current group of tool and technologies that teachers are using in their teaching and learning
• To experiment with a range of technologies and consider how they could be used in the Spanish teaching and learning context.
• To experience using and working with key technologies from the student’s point of view as a way to experiment a better understanding of their impact.

METODOLOGÍA

 Russell will provide lots of hands on opportunities for you to work with different technologies and experience using them. He will also highlight examples of his own work and of other teachers around the world. It will be a combination of practical examples , hands on working with the technologies and some discussion around the link between theory and practice.

PONENTE

 Russell Stannard is the founder of www.teachertrainingvideos.com. The website has won Russell 3 major educational awards from the Times Higher, The British Council  and the University of Westminster. His website offers free step by step  videos to help teachers incorporate technology into their teaching, receiving more than 300,000 visits a year. Russell is truly an international speaker, having presented in 26 countries around the world. His interest in technology includes feedback, developing student’s fluency, assessment, reflection and the Flipped Classroom. His feedback ideas generated widespread media interest including an appearance on  TV and inclusion in a report submitted to the UK government. He was also an early adopter of the Flipped Classroom approach, flipping his multimedia courses while at the University of Westminster and winning funding from JISC in the process. Russell currently works part-time as a Principal Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick on the MA in ICT and ELT but also as a  NILE (Norwich Institute of Language Education) associate trainer, where he delivers technology training to teachers from all over the world. He writes regular columns in the English Teaching Professional and the Teacher Trainer.
