Storytelling Skills for Language Teachers

Imprimir

INTRODUCCIÓN

It is often teachers of young learners who are the quickest to embrace teacher-led storytelling as a way of engaging students and structuring sessions. But we are considering a classroom art which is far too valuable and versatile to be associated exclusively with one group alone.
This 3 day face-to-face course is ideal for anyone looking to get the most out of storytelling in ELT. During the course, you will develop your awareness and understanding of the potential and versatility of this technique no matter the age of your students. You will gain valuable insight into the huge number of learning and teaching opportunities in front of our eyes when using storytelling, together with the acquisition of invaluable skills, competences and ideas for lesson planning.

OBJETIVOS

• Choosing stories for your classroom.
• How to prepare storytelling sessions.
• Development of teacher talk techniques.
• How to involve students and get them speaking and interacting.
• How to incorporate image and video into storytelling.

CONTENIDOS

• Planning storytelling.
• Us and them … how to get students involved.
